North Jutland is known as country of the lights and here you can enjoy your days at the lovely Danish beaches. However if you wish to keep your kids happy, you need to have more activities ready, and this is why we have gathered the best family activities in north Jutland in the ultimate summer holiday guide:

Kids love animals and in north Jutland there are plenty of opportunities to get close to sweet, fun and exciting animals. In Eagle World you get to see amazing shows with impressive birds of prey, while Nymarksminde Farmpark lets you have fun with the cute farm animals at a slower pace. Aalborg Zoo has a wealth of exciting and exotic animals and they have extra activities throughout the summer to guarantee you the best experience.

If the weather is bad, then a good activity is to go to one of the aquariums in the area where you get to see beautiful fish even if the rain is pouring down outside. At North Sea Aquarium (Nordsø Akvariet) the kids get to do more than just watch, and can for example try to touch the fish or learn how to tie knots. North Sea Oceanarium (Nordsø Oceanarium) welcomes you to the largest aquarium in northern Europe and also invites you to try and make your own movie with the North Sea Moviemaker App. If seeing the fish in closed aquariums is not enough, then Jutland Aquarium (Jyllandsakvariet) also offers excursions to the outside. You can go on a seal safari, a city and harbour tour or participate in the crab catching contest. Every Wednesday in July and August it is also possible to help wake the fish before the aquarium opens.

Is there something, which is always a hit it is a day in an amusement park. Fårup Summerland (Sommerland) guarantees a fun day with plenty of laughs and entertainment. This year is their 40th anniversary and they therefore arranged some celebration concerts during the summer. Jesperhus is also a mecca when it comes to entertainment. Here you get to visit the jungle zoo, enjoy the flower park and go to the waterpark or try bowling, miniature golf and laser tag.

If your kids like to be creative, then they can join the painting school at Skagen’s Museum, Monday to Friday, the entire summer break. The painting school last for about 2 hours and the kids get to take their painting home in a nice gold frame, so they can have a fun memory of the day. Another fun activity is a visit to the Viking Centre Fyrkat (Vikingercenter Fyrkat), which is inhabited by real Vikings the entire summer. You can also participate in the warrior school or watch impressive archery.

One thing is for sure, both you and the kids will love a summer holiday at north Jutland.
