A visit to Hasmark strand on Funen is something you will never regret. The nature is lovely and the beach goes all the way from Enebaerodde to Flyvesandet. A better beach is not to be found on Funen. Only 22 km from Hasmark strand is Odense, which is the third largest city in Denmark. It is therefore possible to go on several trips and experience everything Odense has to offer.

In august the city is bussing with life, from the different theme-based festivals. The big H.C. Andersen Festival is held with music and fairy tale telling. There is a lasershow at city hall, stunt show and large concerts in ‘Kongens Have’. There is something happening for both young and old the entire time. It is also a trip worth to go by the house of H.C. Andersen, now that you are in his birth city anyway.

The Flowerfestival is another of the festivals held in august, where the entire centre of Odense is decorated with flowers in different themes from year to year. There are workshops, greenhouses with orchids and a lot of life in the city when the Flowerfestival is in town. And the joys of visiting Odense in the summer does not end here, because every Thursday evening, the entire summer there are free concerts in ‘Kongens Have’ with different bands and solo performers.

Experience the square in Odense every Wednesday and Saturday morning the entire year, with food and flower market, arts and crafts and a lot of other things. Another full-year attraction is Odense’s big and beautiful ZOO, which has recently received the title as the best ZOO in Europe. Here you can see manatees, breeding penguins and you can walk among Pippi’s Longstocking monkeys. Take a trip with the ZOO-train and experience the entire garden and all it has to offer.

Odense ZOO is located in beautiful surroundings with Odense River and forest. On the river sails ‘Odense Åfart’ which stops at Odense ZOO, so you could very well take a sailing trip to the ZOO. On the trip you see ‘Munkemose’ and a lot of beautiful nature. The boat-trip also stops by Carlslund’s restaurant, which is known for its omelettes with pork. You can also rent rowing boats and pedal boats if you want to decide your own speed and sailing path.
